One Hundred Years in the Making (1999)

The title of this work references the approximate age of the tree.  At this point I felt little connection to the material I was working with which led me to harvest my own material and make work which referenced the living organism from which the material came from.  The chair in the picture is meant to give a sense of scale.  This work was later featured in the book Studio Two: Traditions in Contemporary Furniture published by the The Furniture Society and edited by John Kelsey & Rick Mastelli.
