A Faculty of Wonder (2002-03)

Wood cast glass, wood, RA4 prints, photocopies. Multiple sculptures were made using by pouring hot glass on a piece of wood multiple times. During the process the glass changed and the wood changed, each in response to each other. The decay of the wood was visually recorded with photographs. The growth of the glass was record in itself. The installation is essentially about this process. It attempts to trace the initial idea (wonder) "what would happen if I poured glass multiple times on a piece of wood?"
