Light Gets In (2001)

 

Commissioned as a dictionary stand. The glass in the piece was cast directly on itself.  The section of wood that the glass was poured on was removed and the glass inserted. You see a board of wood with a window made of glass, which took its form from its interaction with the wood. It becomes more then just a window.  The bottom right image shows the casting process.  This work was included in the show "Best of" at the First Canadian Place Gallery in Toronto, 2001.
