Night Walk (2006)

This work features photographs that were randomly taken while walking in a pitch black forest. The only way I could see where I was going was by the flash of the camera. The work was inspired by something that I may have seen at that time but that the camera failed to record. The center image that appears directly behind the chair continues in black and white photocopy form on the interior walls of the cabinet. There is a small shelf on both the front and back of the cabinet providing minimal and "secret" storage. The intention was to allow an interplay between an object and its surrounding which in this case is furniture and wallpaper. It was installed in the window of a small furniture / gallery and was on view 24 hrs a day. The books that appeared in the work were selected by Kate Eisen and changed throughout the exhibition.
