Overgrown (2007)

 

A the fall 2006 a wooden chair was re-assembled around a tree outside of a contemporary design store in Toronto.  The intent was to make the chair appear to have sat there long enough for a tree to grow through it.   After surviving the winter the chair and tree were hypothetically removed and re-installed along with images of a forest scene which folded into the space like a box.  The space itself was a 8' cube (a giant box) in the back of the same design store.
