Still Life / Motion Life (2002 - 2004)
.jpg)
acrylic / glass on canvas, wall, zoetrope, digital prints, flip book
1. make a glass vase 2.paint a 1:1 scale 'still life' using it 3. heat the vase (thus somewhat returning it to a near molten 'unstill' state) 4. place the hot vase on its own image 5. still life vase burns through its own image and continues to create new images on canvases that have been previously stacked horizontally underneath initial painting 6. record 'motion life' painting with a camera. This flip book was created from digital and 35mm photographs of the still life painting combined with images of the motion life paintings. The images depict actual material objects along with their pictorial representations. First edition of 15 signed and numbered are sold out. 48 pages... I'm planning on printing a second edition soon... (the above photo is by Robyn Clarke 2004)
