Still Life / Motion Life (2002-2004)

This project compares the control of still life painting with the chaos of life in motion. A glass vase was hand made and a simple still life with flower was painted 1:1 scale. The vase was then reheated and placed upon it’s own pictorial image. The vase melted through the painted canvas and fell upon subsequent canvases, each time leaving a different mark.  This process was documented and a flip book was made to re-experience this dual act of creation and destruction, motion life.

The first edition of 15 signed and numbered are sold out. 48 pages.
